About

About

Ioannis Crouch runs Reel Emotion as a full-time wedding video business based in Brighton. Filming weddings across London and the South East Ioannis has shot in excess of 250 weddings.

Booking Reel Emotion is a personal service, all camerawork, editing and communication is carried out by Ioannis.

The core value with which weddings are filmed is one of subtlety. There will be no stress, no help needed, just a cameraman joining you to unobtrusively document your wedding day as it happens.

If you live within reasonable distance from Brighton a free no obligation visit can be arranged to discuss your thoughts and wishes. Otherwise, feel free to pick up the phone or send me an email with any questions you may have. (ioanniscrouch@reelemotion.co.uk) 07977 460439

Below is a quick Q&A regarding my approach.

How would you describe your wedding videography?

I’m very much interested in classical composition. When I’m covering a wedding I like to let the action in front of the camera speak for itself. I don’t like to draw attention to the presence of my being there with fancy editing or camera movement. Instead, I like to operate as a ‘fly on the wall’, when I discover a scene I simply prepare the camera and let the event take place.

How would you describe your working > When I’m at your wedding I will not make any requests of you nor will I inhibit your guests’ experience. I will work seamlessly alongside your photographer. Due to my documentary > I offer a personal service, which means if you book a Reel Emotion Wedding Video, you will deal with me directly when booking, I will be there on the day and I will personally edit the footage.

What type of equipment do you use?

I am currently in love with the Panasonic GH5s with a spare GH5 as a backup camera. The GH5s allows me to be very mobile and portable during your wedding day. It films in Ultra High Definition 4K and for the ceremony and speeches, it has an extra audio attachment that allows me to plug in extra microphones. I will often use a radio mic on the Groom for capturing audio during the ceremony and speeches. I also have a few extra personal recorders for capturing audio during the speeches.

Do you shoot in 4K?

I film on a Panasonic GH5s which films in UHD 4K. I will send you your final wedding video edits via a secure online portal which will allow you to view the videos, share them with family and friends and download the original files in a number of resolutions.

What can you offer couples? Can they customise the package with you?

I would typically cover a wedding day for an agreed number of hours. There are optional extras such as extended preparation coverage, guest messages and extended evening coverage.

What parts of the day do you usually capture?

I would typically arrive one hour before the ceremony is due to begin and leave thirty minutes after the first dance. I will spend most of the day filming with a brief break when you and your guests sit down to eat. In your Long Edit, you should have a very thorough recording of your day. Something that will let you re-live your wedding day.

How long does it take you to edit?

I can have most edits completed within 4 weeks.

How long with the final edits be?

This will be dependant on the length of ceremony and speeches but typically the Long Edit will be around 90-120 minutes long. You will also have a short 5-10 minute highlights of the day which can be shared online with family and friends.

How far in advance should couples book you?

Some dates are taken 18 months in advance and some dates go within a few months. However, once an enquiry has been made I offer to save the couples details in the diary and they have first refusal should someone else enquire. This reassures couples who are interested but not ready to commit immediately.

If you were getting married, how would you choose your wedding videographer?

I would ask my photographer or venue for recommendations. I’m a firm believer in recommendations. Feedback and testimonials are important for any wedding supplier.
